We’ve finally made it to the first $100.00 raised by ad revenue! I’m so excited. Google Ads will be sending me a check next month and I’ll be donating it to Pandas International! I can’t express how grateful I am for everyone supporting this site so that we can help support pandas. I’ll be resetting the counter and updating all the donation information soon. Unfortunately work and school has kept me a bit preoccupied lately, so I haven’t been able to keep up with it as much as I’d like.

In the near future I’ll also be redoing the site design and adding a few more advertisers. Don’t worry, nothing too annoying. I hate those flashy ads and sites that almost send you into an epileptic seizure as much as the next person! I think simple is the best way to go.

I just wanted to thank and congratulate everyone on helping us make our first goal!

I had read about this a few days ago, but wanted to wait until I could get some photos to post of it. I’m so glad I waited, look at how amazing these photos (via ScaryIdeas) are! Here’s the AFP blurb about the whole thing.

PARIS (AFP) — Paris city hall was swamped by 1,600 papier mache pandas on Thursday, part of a WWF campaign to highlight the urgent need to protect the vanishing species.

According to the environmentalist group, which uses the bear as its logo, there are only 1,600 giant pandas left worldwide, making it one of the most striking examples of biodiversity in danger.

“Through this symbol we want to show our attachment to the whole of the living world,” said Serge Orru, head of WWF France.

“Of course, the panda is the most touching, the most tender. But worms are just as important as pandas.”

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), one in four mammals, one in eight birds, a third of all amphibians and 70 percent of plants are under threat from global warming, deforestation and pollution.

The hand-painted Paris pandas, around 40 centimetres (one and a half feet) tall, are to travel around the capital’s monuments in the coming weeks before setting off for sites across France.

So, I noticed a new Google ad promoting this site: www.pandarelocationfoundation.org. To my surprise, I stumbled across a promotional site for the new Ben Stiller movie Tropic Thunder. What does it have to do with pandas? I have no idea. Maybe they’ve just become so trendy, they threw it in to drum up more interest? I’ve emailed the given address to find out ‘more information’, so I’ll keep you up to date if anything interesting comes about from it.

I saw this cute felt panda on Etsy I made up my mind that I’m going to attempt making one! I’m sure it won’t turn out quite as nice as the one in allthingssmall’s Etsy shop, but it’s worth a shot. You can buy this adorable one for only $14.00 here .

These are advertised as chopstick rests but I could find a hundred uses for them. The pandas are so cute! Buy them here for around $10.00.

There are so many times in life when you just need to ask WTF?! This tee from tshirtbordello.com asks that very question. I certainly wouldn’t be caught dead in this, but I might buy it for a friend. Available for $13.99 here.
