Giveaway Sponsored by ShanaLogic!

So, who’s up for a huge giveaway?!

Starting at 1:00pm EST on Monday, August 25th, the first 50 people to email me at Giveaways@PerfectPandas.com with your name and mailing address will win a Panda Band bracelet!

I featured the Panda Band website in a previous post and how amazing it is that Tracey’s raising so much money for Pandas International. When Shana from ShanaLogic.com saw the post, she wanted to sponsor a giveaway to show her support for the pandas!

Also, because I adore her site and the fact that she’s awesome enough to sponsor a giveaway like this, I’ll randomly choose one person to win a $25.00 gift card to the site! To enter for the gift card, just comment on this post with a link to your favorite item on ShanaLogic.com. Comments will be closed at Midnight on Friday, August 29th.

So, quick recap:

1) The first 50 people to email me at Giveaways@PerfectPandas.com after 1:00pm EST on Monday, August 25th with their name and mailing address will win a Panda Band bracelet!

2) Leave a comment with a link to your favorite item on ShanaLogic.com before Friday, August 29th for a chance to win a $25.00 gift card!

Panda Computer Icons

I found these adorable icons on PixiegirlPresents.com and instantly changed my computer icons to be full of panda-y goodness. They’re free and available for Windows or Mac OS X, so there’s no excuse not to panda up your technology today!

Everything below can be found on PixiegirlPresents.com by just browsing around, I’d link directly to them but I can’t. Besides, you’d miss out on all the adorable things there if I did that, right?

Check out the desktop section, too. There are hundreds!

They also have free iPhone backgrounds that are too cute!

Panda Update from Pandas International!

Below is a copy of the Pandas International monthly newsletter. If you aren’t already subscribed, you can subscribe here. It’s a wonderful source of information! Who knew baby panda poo was so…. colorful?!

Also, don’t forget to donate to Pandas International here.

Thanks to Frances for forwarding this to me!

……………………………………………………………….

After all the recent updates dealing with the terrible effects of the May Earthquake, we finally have some good news to report! Ten cubs have been born to Wolong pandas! At their new home Bifengxia in Ya’an City, six mothers have given birth. As you may remember, the pregnant females were the first pandas to be evacuated after the earthquake at Wolong, and Incubators were one of the first items sent to Bifengxia by Pandas International.

New Wolong Babies

Guo Guo was rescued following the 5-12 earthquake and moved from Wolong to Bifengxia (photo at left). She had twin boys on July 6, 2008 (top).

Guo Guo was born September 14, 1996 to Mom Jia Jia, who is now at Ocean Park in Hong Kong. Guo Guo’s Dad is Xin Xing.

That’s right — baby panda poo!

July 13th Ying Ying had a single cub (above).

July 21st Long Xin had twins (not shown).
July 26th Bai Xue had twins (above).

August 5th Cao Cao had twins (above).
Other births

On August 8, 2008, Fei Fei had a single cub who will hopefully be named the Olympic Baby.

In addition, Chengdu has had 6 cubs born and Xhaanxi had one set of twins.

New Babies Need Lots of TLC
(and milk)!

Help us continue to grow and thrive by making a donation to Pandas International today.

Panda Money!

It’s official, the first $200.00 of ad revenue has been donated to Pandas International! (proof!) We’re still zooming along and we’ll be at $300.00 soon. If this pace keeps up we’ll have to come up with a better plan for the proceeds. The polls don’t seem to stay up long enough!

Speaking of polls, there’s a new one in the sidebar. Make sure to vote!

Thanks again for all the support for this little panda site. You’ve made a huge impact in helping pandas without much effort. How awesome is that?!

Panda Social Networks

With the support (and pushiness) of a few friends, I’ve finally added Perfect Pandas to MySpace and Facebook. Both include an RSS feed of the site, so if you can’t make it here you can catch up on the latest news there.

I’ll add events and upcoming giveaways to each site as well, so be on the lookout for those!

Panda Reader Mail

I’ve gotten so much great reader mail from you guys, I can’t believe it! I love it! I wanted to share a few of the most recent things readers have sent in. Prepare to melt!

Lauren sent in her awesome MS Paint creation that she made for her boyfriend. The Flute Playing Panda post reminded her of it and she wanted to share. Too cute!

Andi from www.pandanews.org sent me a link to her new site and I love it! I wanted to make sure to pass it on.  Be sure to check in often, at the end of this month Andi will be volunteering to work with the pandas for 3 weeks in China.

Frances is just awesome and sends me the best stuff, too! Like this adorable photo of an Olympic panda kissing the logo. I awww’d out loud. (Source)

She also alerted me to this amazingly adorable panda fabric that I had to buy. I have no idea what to make with it, but I’ve taken up quilting so I’m sure I can incorporate it into a design. Maybe I’ll make a panda quilt, sell it and donate the money to charity! Oh, someday my ambitious mind will kill me.

You can buy it at eQuilter.com for $8.95 a yard.

Lastly, (well not really, but I’m saving other things she sent for their own posts!), she sent these wonderful animated .gifs! Feel free to right click and save them to your computer.

Keep all the great emails to Suggestions@PerfectPandas.com coming!

Paper Craft Olympic Pandas

These adorable Olympic panda paper crafts are available free from the original source, cardmodel.cn, or you can download them below from Perfect Pandas. Unfortunately, the instructions are in Chinese, so you’ll have to follow along with the pictures. Luckily, there are a ton of photos to follow along with so you should be fine! They’re extremely intricate, so it will probably takes hours upon hours to complete, but look how cute they are!

Site Update

Oh my goodness, I can’t believe how much my little site has raised for pandas! We’ve hit $100, flew past $200 and now we’re on our way to $300 for pandas! I have so many new things planned for the site that I can’t wait to get finished. If you have any suggestions or things you’d like to see added to the site, please email me or leave a comment on this post!

As soon as Google AdSense pays out the cash, I’ll be donating at least $100 to Pandas International, and depending upon the outcome of the newest poll, maybe $200!

Thanks for being a part of the site, I truly appreciate everyone that visits and all the wonderful product and news suggestions I get from you guys. You’re amazing!

Next month Perfect Pandas will be turning one year old! Already! I can’t believe it’s been that long. I have some giveaways and prizes in the works, so stay tuned for those. Some may be sooner than you think! ;)

Panda Butterfly Effect

Awesome reader Myrtti sent in this amazing background graphic. It’s the winner of the Fast Graphics Competition at the  Assembly Summer 2008 Demoparty.
