Atlanta Cub Update

Some concerns about the panda baby born in Atlanta on Saturday night prompted Atlanta Zoo officials to remove the cub from its mama for almost 19 hours. It was placed in an incubator and fed formula during this time. Late this evening the baby was reintroduced to Lun Lun and all things are looking well (crosses fingers). I’m sure the recent death of the three day old panda baby in Japan has kept the fragility of newborn pandas in the back of everyone’s mind. Better safe than sorry, and I’m glad that the little guy is doing well so far!

Yes, little guy! Lun Lun’s cub is a boy! Since he won’t have an official name until he turns 100 days old, what should his nickname be? So many possibilties – what do you think? Keep up to date on his progress here.

Lun Lun nursing! Yay!
