I’ve been super busy lately (including watching the new panda baby non-stop!) and have been dealing with some issues that arose with the site pertaining to advertising (as I’m sure you’ve probably noticed). I’m trying to resolve it, so I don’t want to get into the gory details at the moment, but I’ll be sure to update you as soon as we’ve come to a resolution.

And, because he makes me so happy and makes me forget my worries for a bit, here’s a cute shot of the little fluffy panda baby at the Atlanta Zoo!

Is he not just the cutest little guy EVER?! He still needs a good nickname. I have a few in my head, but I haven’t really decided my favorite. What do you call him?

Continuing the pirate theme from yesterday, I wanted to share this cute little Schaffa I found a while back. This one, along with a ton of others, was made to raise money for an Australia non-profit call Close the Gap. This little guy was on display for the month of June at the Urban Cow Gallery in Adelaide and was deisgned by Jemma Barratt.

Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, Arrrh! Of course, we have to put a panda spin on it, so how about talking like a panda pirate! Wonder what that would sound like?

Vente Cosmetics has this helpful page about reducing dark circles around your eyes. Which, to be honest, I’ve had lately due to lack of sleep! I plan on trying the apple tip simply because I love the smell. What does this have to do with pandas, you ask? Well, not much – except this adorable illustration on their page.

But pandas are the only ones that look good with dark circles!

Japan had a panda population growth of two on Saturday! Rauhin, an eight year old Japanese born panda, gave birth to twins on September 13th. A cute little panda girl made her appearance at 5:35am and a little over an hour later at 6:49am her baby brother popped out! Fingers crossed that they remain healthy, happy, black, white and cuddly! Watch mama Rauhin in action below!

With the November election drawing near here in the US, we’re constantly being inundated with political ads. Most of them are filled with mud slinging and empty promises. However, the one below is clever without being hateful. Ralph Nader, a third party candidate for president, muses about how cute animals get more media coverage than third party political campaigns and contemplates dressing up as a panda and going to the Washington DC zoo.

The ad sounds odd, and no doubt it is, but still kind of cute.

While I definitely don’t want to turn this site into my own political platform, I would like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to register to vote and get out there on November 4th and voice your opinion, no matter what it is. Also, I’d like to urge everyone to learn more about third party political candidates. You have more than two choices! Learn more about some of the third party candidates here, and register to vote here.

While I’m not voting for Nader, I certainly believe that all parties should have an equal opportunity to get their message out to the public.

Swedish McDonald’s launched the Endangered Animals Happy Meal last month with the hopes of expanding the campaign to Europe next March. The Happy Meal comes complete with access to an interactive site where kids can learn more about endangered species.

And of course, there’s a panda section. Kids (and adults) from everywhere can learn facts, play games and print out a certificate here.

TheDieline.com featured these adorable little panda matches back in April. Though I’m a bit late in sharing, they’re still just as cute. I especially love that there’s a panda face on each match head!
