People just won’t leave poor Gu Gu alone! Yet another idiot person entered Gu Gu’s cage uninvited. This time it was a father going after a toy his child carelessly tossed into the enclosure. This makes the third person that has been intimately acquainted with Gu Gu’s canines.
When will people learn to respect animals, not only in the zoo, but in general? I don’t feel a bit of sympathy for the man, who I refuse to call the ‘victim’.
The real victim is Gu Gu.

I agree 100%. I saw a news headline that read “Panda Acquires Taste For Human Blood,” as if Gu Gu was the aggressor! In the wild pandas are solitary animals and that makes it especially stressful for them to have unknown intruders in their territory.
They had to use tools to pry apart Gu Gu’s jaws to free the “victim” and that probably hurt the panda. I think the “victim” should be fined and held up to public ridicule in China. There is no shortage of stupid people in the world but few giant pandas and I am on their side. They should be treated with utmost respect.

I’ve seen two versions of this story one says Gugu was chased away by a broom and another said that they had to use tools to open his mouth.
Also in the articles one said that the man had an operation and the other said the wounds were more scratches.
Not sure which is the totally true stories.

I think he was chased with a broom in one of the other incidents, so maybe they mixed them up? I hope it was the same this time, though. The photo I saw of the latest “victim” showed lots of bandages on his leg, but in a hospital they use dressings that make every wound look like a massive injury, so it could be that he wasn’t hurt too badly. Any other animal with jaws that strong and claws that big would have made short work of him the moment he entered the enclosure, so he is very lucky.
