“Six panda lovers have been named as “pambassadors” after the grand finals of a global competition for panda keepers held Wednesday (9/22/2010) afternoon in Chengdu, capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The six winners will spend one month taking care of six giant pandas in Chengdu and blog about their experiences at pandahome.com in an effort to raise awareness about the endangered animal’s plight.”

Be forewarned, these are disturbingly funny in a creepy clown sort of way.

My grandmother just had a CT scan and I’ve been researching her diagnosis online. While doing so, I stumbled upon this post over at Mind Hacks.

“The image you can see on the left is the ‘face of the giant panda sign’ that appeared in a brain scan of a patient with multiple sclerosis… The pattern is apparently caused by “high signal in the tegmentum, normal signals in the red nuclei and lateral portion of the pars reticulata of the substantia nigra, and hypointensity of the superior colliculus”

So, I’m the first to admit that I have no clue what most of that means, but I thought I’d post it for those who do. Perhaps the photo will help clear things up…

In honor of my time spent as a first degree murder trial juror, which I must admit was very disturbing, stressful and time consuming, I’m posting a few random things I’ve found relating to violent pandas. I’ve decided to put them behind a cut, but there’s really nothing too disturbing or visually violent – just pandas with guns.
